Maha Abdelbaset is the V2V Project Manager. Maha has a background in sustainability management and planning with ten years of experience in teaching architecture students at Qatar University and, most recently, as a Course Integrated Support Fellow at the University of Waterloo. She is also an advisor for the City of Waterloo’s Sustainability Committee and City Visioning and Place-Making Sub-Committee.
Maha's research focuses on the impacts of COVID-19 on the livelihoods resilience of small-scale fisheries in Africa and Asia, and identifying the essential elements of coping and adaptive responses by the fishers under pressure from multiple external stressors. Through her research she is proposing novel governance strategies for building resilient and viable SSF social-ecological systems.
