Athena Kimberly Sipaun

Athena Kimberly Sipaun is pursuing her Master's in Management at the University Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK), Malaysia under the supervision of Prof. Gazi Md Nurul Islam. Her research focuses on the factors of poverty and vulnerability. In particular the coral habitat distribution, marine resource use pattern, and level of stakeholder participation in monitoring, surveillance and management in Tun Mustapha Park, Sabah. She is also an English Language Tutor for a private college in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. She has experience being a Teaching Assistant in Kinabalu International School (KIS) and an instructor for SIDMA College Sabah, as well as at a private higher learning institution in Sabah. Athena speaks mainly three languages which are English, Malay and Mandarin. However, with her Filipino roots from her mother, she also speaks Visaya regularly at home.
