Madhubarna Dhar

Madhubarna Dhar is currently pursuing her PhD at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur working under the supervision of Prof. Amrita Sen. She is currently trying to develop an understanding of how environmental agendas animate spaces of informality in cities in the context of the ‘Hawker’s Question’ in Kolkata. Madhubarna received her Master's degree in Sociology from Presidency University, Kolkata. Her research primarily focuses on urban environmentalism, issues of population displacement, city planning and urban informality.
