Sulemani Masoud Mohamed

Sulemani Masoud Mohamed, born on December 1st, 1996, in Zanzibar, Tanzania, is deeply committed to marine conservation. He has a Bachelor's in Aquaculture from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and is pursuing his Master's in Marine Science at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Sulemani's academic journey aligns closely with his dedication to preserving marine ecosystems. Starting as a Field Research Assistant with the Wildlife Conservation Society Tanzania Marine Program, Sulemani's experiences have enriched his understanding of marine conservation. He contributed to managing marine resources in the Pemba Channel Conservation Area (PECCA). Through his tenure at WCS Tanzania, Sulemani gained invaluable insights into the dynamics between coastal communities and marine environments. Now, as a recipient of the V2V Global Partnership scholarship, Sulemani focuses his research on examining the impacts of fisheries closures on the resilience of coastal communities. His research(dissertation) highlights his commitment to preserving marine biodiversity and advocating for the sustainable management of coastal resources for the well-being of current and future generations.
