Upasna Acharya

Upasna Acharya is a PhD student in Social and Ecological Sustainability at the University of Waterloo, Canada. She is an alumnus of the Cooperation and Development Network (CDN) at Pavia University and holds a Postgraduate degree in International Cooperation and Development. Having worked in academics and applied research for over eight years, Upasna has extensive experience in both. She has been involved in various national and international projects throughout her career. Gender, entrepreneurship, and the environment are among her core research interests. Currently, she is working under the supervision of Dr. Prateep Kumar Nayak, studying the nexus between climate change, gender, and ecopreneurship in small-scale fisheries.
